Kulu Manali residents witnessed the fury of beas for the first time after 1995. Right from Palchan village near Rohtang Pass downstream to Aut in Mandi 
district. Flooding river caused extensive damage . Environmentalists feel that there should be holistic development in a sustainable manner or such incidents would be a common phenomenon in the coming times. 12 to 14 Nullahs of the Beas were in full spate,15 -20 vehicles were washed away. Many bridges around kullu and Manali were either damaged or have become unsafe. All government and private schools were closed for two days. At Koksar 120 people were stranded after 30 cm snowfall at Rohtangpass had to be rescued by the army. Beas flooding has left people worried as thousands live along its banks. Public property worth crores have been damaged. The alarming bells are ringing if we do not stop the destruction then nature has its own ways to balance. We need to be future ready now,love and care the environment or be prepared to face the consequences.
